Bio: Mr. Woolley is Chairman of Extra Space Storage Inc (NYSE REIT). Ken served as CEO from its formation through March 2009 and as CIO from 2012 to 2013. He has been involved in the self-storage industry since 1977. Early in his career he was a management consultant with Boston Consulting Group. He was an Associate Professor, and later an Adjunct Associate Professor of Business Administration at BYU, where he taught undergraduate and MBA classes in Corporate Strategy and Real Estate. He has developed 18,000 apartment units through his Las Vegas entity, Nevada West Partners. He has founded several companies in the retail, electronics, food manufacturing and natural resources industries. From 2012-2023 he was a trustee and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of American Homes 4 Rent now AMH, a NYSE REIT in the single family housing rental business. He is also a Managing Partner of NY based Gaia Real Estate which owns 5,000+ apartments. He holds a BA from Brigham Young University and an MBA and PhD from Stanford GSB.
