Bio: Mr. McDowell is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of McDowell Properties. He leads the company’s senior team in all aspects of the firm’s business activities and strategic planning and is Chairman of the firm’s Investment Committee. He also oversees the operations of McDowell Housing Partners, the affordable housing affiliate of McDowell Properties. He founded The Fox Group and its successor company Metric Realty, a joint venture with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, managing over $4B in real estate assets with over 400 properties in more than 30 states. McDowell has served on the Advisory Committee for Troubled Projects of the U.S. Department of HUD and as the Vice Chairman of the National Multi Housing Council. He currently is on the Advisory Board for the Fisher Center for Real Estate and a member of the Urban Land Institute and a Board member of the National Multi Housing Council. McDowell has a BA from Stanford and an MBA in Real Estate from the GSB at the University of California, Berkeley.
